Matt Goldberg is well known for his ability to assist clients across an impressive array of practice areas. From litigation, alternative dispute resolution and bankruptcy, to corporate, real estate, employment and intellectual property law, Matt has worked with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and individuals.

Matt co-founded Lotus Law Group in 2018, and served as its general counsel and lead attorney. Matt also previously served as general counsel of Emerge Law Group and practiced at K&L Gates in Portland.

Matt litigates in state and federal courts, including bankruptcy court, tax court, and various courts of appeals, as well as in front of administrative agencies. Matt is among the most experienced attorneys nationwide in representing cannabis and hemp industry clients in civil litigation, arbitration and mediation.

Matt is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and New York and he has a long history of handling complex commercial litigation.

Matt is a former extern to the Honorable Elizabeth L. Perris (ret.) of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar’s Debtor-Creditor Section. Matt is also a former Editorial Board member and Associate Editor of the ABA publication Litigation News. Prior to becoming an attorney, Matt was a journalist for magazines and newspapers, including the Village Voice, the Providence Journal Bulletin and Premiere magazine. He was also an Internet company executive and magazine and book editor in New York City.
