Heather Azzi

United States Cannabis Council


Heather Azzi is General Counsel for the United States Cannabis Council, overseeing all operations and legal matters. Before joining USCC, Heather was a cofounder and General Counsel for the Cannabis Trade Federation and held various roles at the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), including Director of State Campaigns. While at MPP, Heather either led or assisted with drafting a majority of the cannabis-related law enacted in the U.S. between 2007 and 2018. She has over 12 years of experience drafting cannabis-related laws, advising cannabis-related campaigns, and lobbying for sensible cannabis policies.

Heather received her J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. She lives in Denver, Colorado.
