Peter Murphy advises domestic and international clients on a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including transactions and governance matters.  Peter also leads the firm’s Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) Team, which guides domestic and foreign entities registered in the United States to ensure compliance with state and federal corporate transparency laws and regulations.  

Peter also advises cannabis industry clients on regulatory compliance, state and local licensing, and creating strategic relationships to support the launch and growth of their businesses. This includes helping clients navigate evolving cannabis regulations and develop multistate licensing, operations and branding strategies. Before joining the firm, Peter served as chief legal officer for a multistate cannabis operator with cultivation, manufacturing, and retail operations across three states.  In this role, he managed outside counsel and provided direction to executive leadership regarding legal and regulatory matters.

Before working in-house, Peter was the co-chair of the Regulated Substances Practice of another AM Law 200 firm.
