With broad litigation experience in business and real estate disputes, Josh Mandell is a versatile and skilled litigator, trial lawyer, trusted counselor, and problem solver. Josh devotes his practice to all aspects of business litigation, including breach of contract matters, fraud claims, and business torts. He has a wide-ranging practice spanning multiple sectors and varied clients. He represents large and small business owners, national financial institutions, secured lenders, commercial landlords, commercial tenants, property owners, and real property receivers. Josh has extensive experience resolving matters in state and federal court and through arbitration and mediation. Josh is known for his thoughtful approach to obtaining excellent results for his clients. He is also known for his dedication to pro bono matters, which earned him Akerman’s 2023 Pro Bono Impact Award.
In addition to his litigation work, Josh is a member of Akerman’s Cannabis Practice, which provides counsel to clients on the complex legal and business issues impacting companies with interests in the medical and adult-use cannabis industries. Josh is the founder and prior chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Cannabis Law Section.
Outside of his work, Josh runs a prominent scholarship program for the Rotary Club of Los Angeles that awards $200,000-$250,000 annually to high-need and high-performing students across Los Angeles with demonstrated commitments to community service. Josh serves on the Supervisory Committee of a prominent federal credit union.
