Charles Smith is a cannabis regulatory consultant. He assists and advises clients on many facets of the cannabis business with a focus on licensing and compliance. A member of the New York State Bar, Charles is intimately familiar with cannabis laws and regulations throughout the United States. His experience spans across multiple states, including California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Charles is a Lifetime Member of both the National Cannabis Bar Association and the NORML Legal Committee.

He has assisted and advised companies in all aspects of the cannabis industry including: licensing/compliance, strategy and nationwide expansion. Charles works extensively with  Registered Marijuana Dispensaries ("RMD") and Marijuana Establishment applicants in Massachusetts, providing compliance consulting in the licensing and regulatory process. 

Charles is a frequent speaker at cannabis industry conferences throughout the country including the National Cannabis Industry Association’s Cannabis Business Summit and the Cannabis World Conference and Business Expo. Charles is a member of the faculty for Elevate New England, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower underrepresented populations to work and lead in the cannabis industry, and to empower communities to be educated customers and responsible consumers.
